IMMERSION

by Eden Berke

These photographs explore the ancient Jewish ritual of the Mikvah, a ritual bath or body of living water. Existing for over 2,000 years, Mikvahs are traditionally utilized in order to sanctify and cleanse the mind and spirit at different points throughout one's life. For many, immersing oneself in the waters presents an opportunity for spirituality and healing. The series aims to portray the sense of oneness, acceptance, and connection to the divine that many feel while embraced by the water.
